Piers Morgan: Todd Akin A 'Gutless Little Twerp'

Akin Can Still Withdraw from Race

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) ' Embattled Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin faces a tight deadline if he chooses to leave the race, after at least one fellow Republican called on him to step down.

Speculation about Akin's future is growing, a day after he said women's bodies  Read More... are able to prevent pregnancies in 'a legitimate rape' situation. Scott Brown, a Republican U.S. senator from Massachusetts, said Monday that Akin should step aside.

Missouri election law allows candidates to withdraw 11 weeks before Election Day. That means the deadline to exit the Nov. 6 election would be Tuesday at 5 p.m. Otherwise, candidates would need a court order to withdraw.

If Akin leaves, the Republican state committee has two weeks to name a replacement.

The replacement must file within 28 days of Akin's exit.
====================================================

WILL HE? He is a true Tea Party Candidate who won by six percent. If the national party forces him out, there will be hard feelings and a further divide in the GOP. AND no matter if he pulls out or  not Ryan is joined to him as a cosponsor of two bills that reflect Akin's position.

Other Memorable Moments with Todd: A Tea Party Favorite
And also beliefs shared with Ryan

He compared federal student loans to "Stage III cancer"

He didn't know what the federal minimum wage was, and wants to get rid of it altogether

He wants to hand Social Security over to Wall Street

He wants to privatize Medicare with uninsured mutual fund choices for participant

He wants to preserve taxpayer subsidies for big oil and gas companies

Akin would overturn the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

He opposes federal spending on school lunches

AND Akin has never yes on a Farm bill.

Apparently, the fact that Missouri, a state in which agriculture is dominant,  is suffering under the worst drought in at least 50 years means nothing to him, and providing relief to farmers is not a priority in his mind.  No, he'd rather focus on privatizing Social Security, turning Medicare into a coupon program, forcing women to give birth and putting the banksters back in charge of student loans.

AKIN = RYAN
